One Of Us

While we know that John McCain has certainly done some very real work in his earlier life, speaking of his Military service, he really has very little in the way of private sector experience.

Of course, what John McCain has far outweighs anything in the background of Barack Obama or Joe Biden, neither of whom have done much of anything outside of government. Joe Biden being elected to the Senate very shortly after law school, at the minimum age allowed the Constitution, while Obama went to a prestigious prep school, and eventually Harvard, and then still didn't really do any work, keeping up a minimum teaching job, while being a "community organizer" which term remains largely undefined by the media. Other than a very aggressive desire to achieve more personal power, neither of them have done much of anything.

Sarah Palin, on the other hand, is one of us. She was leading a normal life with her husband and kids, running a small business, and, as the picture shows, working in that small business. She saw some things that needed to be changed in her small town and got herself elected to the town council, and eventually took the reigns as mayor, beating a three term incumbent. After an unsuccessful run for Lt Gov, she was appointed to the ethics commission and tried routing out corruption, resigning when she found the commission itself to be corrupt. She then defeated the incumbent Republican Governor in the primary, and followed that up be defeating a former Democratic Gov in the general election, and immediately set about cleaning up the corruption in her State.

It's really no wonder McCain thought that the American People would like this lady.
