Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

True Colors Shining Through

With all the pain that people are feeling from the high gas prices today, we keep getting a lot of lip service from Congress about how much they want to allow us some relief. Of course they haven't actually done anything, but to hear them talk, you would think that they really care deeply about how much it costs us. Of course, I don't believe them at all, but there you go.

So, this morning I look on FoxNews.com to see a story about how Congress is considering raising the Gas Tax. I couldn't believe that they would be so blatant about it. Here they are, talking unceasingly about wanting to bring us relief from the high cost of fuel, and then, quietly talking amongst themselves about increasing the Federal Gas Tax.

What this proves, and ought to be obvious to everyone, is that every single one of these people needs to be voted out of office. You hear a lot in the press about how low President Bush's approval ratings are, yet, did you know that the Congressional approval rating is even lower? That's right, according to the latest Gallup polls, Bush stands at an abysmal 31%, while Congress shows a disheartening 14%. That's right, less than half. Of course, you don't generally hear anything about that part in the media at all.

The big problem when it comes to Congress is that so many people realize what a terrible job the so-called representatives are doing as a collective whole, but most people try to rationalize and say that their own Congressman is doing a pretty good job. WRONG! They all need to be sent packing, yours included. Vote the bums out! Let's start over with a fresh Congress, and be sure that they understand that if they pull the same crap, we will do it again! This is the only way we can get good people in there who will follow the Constitution and do the right thing. We must hold these people accountable for not doing the job that they were elected to do.
