100 Days And Other Stuff
There are other things going on today. Right now we have an hyped up panic about Swine Flu, which the democrats are trying to manage and use to push us toward their disastrous plans for our health care system. Basically, people are getting the flu. The very young and the elderly, or those who are already unhealthy for some other reason are in real danger, just as they are from the "regular" flu, but all current indications are that nobody is in any more danger from this flu than they are from the "regular" flu. But of course, no matter what, we can know that we are in good shape because we have two idiotic failed Governors looking out for us.
And of course, people are still talking about the loser Senator from Pennsylvania, Arlen Specter bailing on the Republican party in favor of the Democrats. Of course, he went out there and claimed that the GOP has gone too far to the right. I've talked about this before, the truth is that the Republican Party has moved to the left, and the Democrats have moved hard left, and fast. Is the gap wider now than ever before? Yes, but certainly not because the GOP has moved right, but because they have not moved left as fast as the Democrats.
With a President that doesn't even like the American people, or the nation as a whole and spends most of his time talking down the USA every chance he gets in every Country he can, and denigrating any American Citizen that disagrees with him. With one party rule in the House of Representatives, and danger of the same happening in the Senate. With a majority of Federal Judges being leftist activists. If our fellow citizens don't start waking up, we are in big trouble.
One other thing, I just saw President Obama making a statement, again deriding those citizens that attended the TEA parties earlier this month, basically dismissing them out of hand, but what really stuck me was at the end of the video clip, when he said that some people want to blame all of his reckless spending (my paraphrase there) for our problems, but that the Stimulus and such are only a small part of the problem. He actually admitted that his actions are, in fact, part of the problem. Kind of stunning thing for him to admit don't you think? Must've been talking without his teleprompter.

Can We Just Be Honest
Now, I'm not a Corporatist, but let's just look at this as a practical matter. Corporations don't pay taxes, oh they do in a literal sense, but not in a practical sense. Employee's pay those taxes by way of lower wages and decreased benefits, and sometimes even job loss, or in potential employee's not getting hired. Also, customers pay those taxes by way of higher priced goods and services. Further, all taxpayers are left to pick up the bill when Corporations decide that the Corporate Income Tax is too oppressive and pack up and move overseas.
Many people want to find a way to punish Corporations who have moved operations off shore, or to find a way to force them to come back to the US, but this can never work. For one, our system simply isn't set up that way, and two, if they can't make money here then they are simply going to close down operations here, and if they open as a new company overseas, well there really is nothing that can be done to them in any event.
The solution, of course, would be in elimination of the Corporate Income Tax. Corporations would be tripping over each other to try to get operations going in the US. They would love to take advantage of the exceptional productivity of the American Worker, if only the Government would get out of the way and allow such a thing to be viable.
On so many levels the Government has created the current crisis, and only by stepping back and getting out of the way can it be fixed. Unfortunately the Government is doing the exact opposite, forcing themselves deeper and deeper into the economy, and trying to run and regulate more and more of it. What we are seeing now is not a plan to recover from an economic crisis, but rather a plan to greatly increase Government size and power. If you realize this, react, get geared up to get some good Conservatives elected in 2010, and if you don't believe me, then just watch what happens, sadly, I'll be proven right in the end.

The New Guy
As of last week the Republican National Committee has a new Chairman, Micheal Steele of Maryland. I have seen him on several news programs, and have heard and read about him in a few places, and if my initial impressions of him hold up, I'm quite happy with this choice. It is my understanding that Mr. Steele is a true Conservative, and the only drawback that I have hear of so far is that it is said that he supports Affirmative Action (maybe one of these days I should do a post on that, and why I oppose it), but even if that's true, that's OK, little single issue disagreements can be dealt with over the course of time, and maybe we can change his mind, but again, even if not, we can still work with him quite well as long as he is, overall, the strong Conservative that I believe him to be.
The really important thing is that Mr. Steele understands that what the GOP needs to do to win elections is to clearly explain the Conservative positions and hold to them. Time and time again it has been proven that Conservative Republicans (and even Conservative Democrats as far as that goes) win elections, while "Moderate" or liberal Republicans tend to lose them, and damage the party as a whole. You need only to look as far as Presidential Politics to see this. Ronald Reagan, a true Conservative, won two landslide victories, the second one larger than the first, and both far larger and more significant landslides than the slight and overblown win that Obama pulled off in November. And, as a side note, a few million more people watched Ronald Reagan's first inauguration on TV than watched Obama's inauguration a couple of weeks ago, but the media doesn't like to let that one get out too much (make that, at all). Anyway, going forward, George H.W. Bush won the Presidency one time only, he won the first time because he had been Reagan's Vice President, and people thought that he might be as good as Reagan, but being that he was a moderate Republican instead of a Conservative like Reagan, people decided not to bother keeping him around for more than one term. The same thing would have happened his son, George W. Bush, if it hadn't been for the fact that we were in the middle of an armed conflict and people tended to trust him on that subject more than the Democrat challenger. And as we saw with John McCain, when you're so liberal that you are nearly a Democrat yourself, people will just go ahead and take the authentic Democrat.
Only be being Conservatives can the Republican party start to win again, but beyond that, even if we did manage to win by being slightly less Democrat than the Democrats, any victories would be meaningless. Contrary to what some have come to believe, politics is not a game to see which party can win the most elections, it is about ideas and doing what is going to be best of the Country, Conservative Principles work, liberal ones lead to disaster, every time.
Speaking for myself, I have high hopes for Micheal Steele, time will tell if they are well founded.

Who Needs The Constitution Anyway?
It is the legitimate duty of the Federal Government to regulate such things, being that a car will be built in one state and sold in every other state, or nearly so, and so the elected officials of one state should not be able to impose their will on the people of the other states in which they were not elected. And in the case of emissions standards, that is what will happen, the auto makers will, out of necessity, comply with the most stringent standards, because they won't be able to afford to make 37 different engines for the same model of car, so the most extreme State Government would decide for the entire nation what the standard would be, and this would jack the price of a car up well past what is reasonable, just to comply with Government mandates, and those mandates put in place by people elected in only one state.
It's too bad that the Obama Administration is already looking to tighten the Federal Governments strangle hold on the auto industry, by cranking MPG requirements even higher than they already are, at a time when they have just given them billions of dollars because they can't make ends meet. Who, exactly, thought that it was a good idea to take actions that will make cars more expensive and less safe? Yes, that's right, less safe, the current standards cost thousands of lives every year, the evidence is clear, every time the MPG requirements are increased highway fatalities increase also. That's not to say that there are more accidents because of this, but that the accidents are less survivable. Why is that? It's because you reach a point, and we have been there for some time, where the only way to increase gas mileage is to make the cars lighter, and that means that they do not offer as much protection in a crash, because some of the safety features were sacrificed in order to get the MPG rating up. The Liberals are literally willing to risk killing you and your family in order to "save the planet."
So, let's take an industry that the Government has regulated nearly into oblivion, that we the people have been forced to give billions of our hard earned dollars to in order to keep them afloat, have the Federal Government kick them while they are down with MPG requirements, and then sucker punch them by allowing each state to require different levels of standards from them. How long is it before our Government beats the auto makers into another bailout? I fear it may not be long.
The great Ronald Reagan once said, "Governments view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

Pigs On No-Doze
There was a Liberal Democrat on Hannity last night (and I forget her name) who kept repeating over and over again, the same line we here from Democrat politicians, "But we have to do something." As I have said many times in the past, and will continue to say, doing the wrong thing is worse than doing nothing.
Many times we have heard Democrats, from President Obama on down, talk about setting up "New Deal" like projects, because they worked so well for FDR. The fact of the matter is that they didn't work so well for FDR. When FDR took office the unemployment rate was 17.4%, after five years of his "shovel ready projects" and economic policy, and massive pork barrel spending to stimulate the economy and create jobs, the unemployment rate was 17.4%. FDR was a complete failure when it came to dealing with the depression. It was our entry into WWII that finally got our economy going again. Obama wants to go down the FDR road, does that mean that he wants to start another Global War? Or is he after something else?
The answer is quite simple, he's after something else. Social change. Like most other liberal democrats, Obama cares only for furthering the cause of the far left, which is Socialism, in some form or another. From listening to Obama, he personally favors Marxism. Now I know that most people don't want to hear such talk, but the fact is that either you listen, get motivated and get involved, or one of these days you wake up in a Country that you don't recognize at all. You're liberties will be gone, the Constitution will be no more, and it will be too late. So wake up, start to listen, start to read, don't just accept what you are told by the media, do your own thinking. Read the Constitution and the Federalist Papers, read the Communist Manifesto, and look at the raw facts of History. Don't be a drone, be an American.

Such A Centrist
He appointed far left ideologue Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. Now I know, lots of people want to say that she's a centrist to, but that's also crap, she's as big a liberal democrat as they come.
He appointed another big lib, one who fought hard to get pardons for Terrorists under President Clinton, because he's a favorite of the far left.
He appointed another favorite of the far left for the Treasury department, and who cares if the man who will be running the IRS couldn't be bothered paying his own taxes until after he was caught. And it clearly wasn't an honest mistake, the guy is a liar and a deliberate tax cheat, but let's assume for a moment that I'm wrong, and he really did make a mistake, do we really think that someone who is so stupid that they can't do what millions of regular folks do every year is really the one to take over Treasury?
He signed an order to close Club Gitmo (as Rush Limbaugh calls it accurately) where no one has ever been tortured, defining torture as 1/1000 of what the terrorists themselves do to innocent people every day, we didn't even come close. But since we were keeping the terrorists locked up where they couldn't kill us, it had to be shut down, you know, in the interest of getting them back on the battle field where they can start killing Americans again.
Despite the fact that last years "stimulus" package did nothing to help the economy, and the emergency bailouts of the past couple of months have been total disasters, he and the other dems are pushing hard to do both of these things again.
Despite the fact that socialized medicine has failed horribly everywhere on earth that it has been tried, and despite the fact that anyone with any common sense knows that what it really amounts to is rationing of medical care, and not care for everyone that needs it as it has been pitched, he is still pushing hard to have it imposed on the American people.
Barack Obama has been President for less than a week and he's already the most Marxist President in the history of our great nation, this is not good, and it certainly is not centrist.

History Matters
I know that some people are asking why this even matters, or thinking that I'm just nit-picking, but it does matter because it shows a complete lack of knowledge, or even concern about the knowledge, of our national history.
Obama has stated on more than one occasion that we need to break from our History (or fancy words which mean that) and now we find out that he doesn't even know the History that he wants to break from. Nor does he care.
I don't much care what anyone else thinks, I think it's disgusting.

Our New President
First, a lot of Christians seem to be asking other Christians, especially those like me who have made our feelings clear, if we plan to pray for our new President. While I can't speak for anyone else, what I can say is that, of course I'll pray for him. I'll pray that God keeps him safe and guides his steps, and that he will preside over the Government during a great time for the USA.
Second, I also keep hearing people ask if we want President Obama to succeed. Well, I have to ask what exactly is meant by that question. Do I want the Country to be successful while Barack Obama is President, even if it means that he gets the credit for it? Of course I do, even though I understand that Obama will be seen as a successful President regardless of if he is or not, I still want the Country to do well. If the question is, do I want Obama to be successful in bringing about all the things that he talked about in his campaign, then my answer has to be no, I am still diametrically opposed to his ideology and philosophy, if I weren't, I probably would have voted for him. If the question is, do I want him to fulfill God's plan for our Nation, be it for good or for ill (from our perspective), then again, the answer would be, of course.
Furthermore, I am sick and tired of hearing how Obama will do such a great job, and we just need to give him a chance, especially from the same people who never gave George W. Bush a chance, or the benefit of the doubt, a single day in the entire eight years that he was President. Given Obamas' stated intentions during the campaign, we cannot afford to give him a chance, it's just that we don't have a choice now.
I am also disgusted by the people who couldn't seem to spend enough time downing President Bush about the cost of his second Inauguration ($43 Million) and yet have not uttered a word about President Obama and the cost of his ($173 Million).
I'm also wondering why every time I type Barack or Obama blogger underlines them in red as though I've misspelled a word, I think it's time to get that taken care of.
I did not watch the inauguration today, understanding that I will probably see it and hear it 100,000,000 times over the course of the next few days, pretty much everywhere I look, but I kinda have to kick myself, not that I wanted to see it, but because I was at the school, and should have gone and watched it with my daughters' class, but didn't think of it in time.
Also, regardless of how much I disagree with Barack Obama on the issues, he is still my President, and if some schmuck ever throws a shoe at him, I'm going to be seriously ticked. I certainly won't laugh about it like those butt heads in the media did about that guy throwing his shoes at President Bush.

A Little Civics Lesson
I have had people before, who seemed to be fairly well informed, who were just totally convinced that we live in a Democratic Republic, which is a total Oxymoron, such a beast cannot exist, and yet, they are committed to the idea that such is our Government. No, as stated above, we are a Representative Republic, or, it could also be accurately described as a Constitutional Republic, the only thing thing that we do that bears any resemblance to democracy is the way that we vote to elect our leaders, but that does not somehow stamp us with the identity of a democracy.
A democracy is a fearful master, for the rights of any minority can be utterly trampled by the majority at any time. It is, simply put, majority rule, which often would lead to mob rule, and anyone not in the mob would simply be trampled underfoot. Democracy is the antithesis to liberty, or, at least one of them.
Perhaps Benjamin Franklin put it best when he said, "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote."

Admiral Husband E. Kimmel
In 2000 the US Congress passed a bill, and President Clinton signed it, authorizing the President (any President, not just Clinton) to restore Rear Admiral Kimmel (now long deceased) to his rightful rank, and to clear his name. For some reason, though he signed the bill, President Clinton did not take the next logical step of restoring Kimmel's name and rank. But it's not too late.
With President Bush being in the waining days of his Administration, the time is now right to urge him to restore the name and rank of this great man, and do justice to his memory.
I would encourage you all to take a few minutes, as I have done, and write an email to President Bush (president@whitehouse.gov) and Vice President Cheney (vice-president@whitehouse.gov) and ask for consideration for restoring Rear Admiral Kimmel's name and rank. It should be noted that in time past, as Secretary of Defense, Vice President Cheney endorsed the idea of clearing Kimmel, and restoring his rank.
Please take a moment and help us correct this great injustice.

Some Leader
He also stated that this problem is so big that only the Government can solve it. Of course he fails to mention that the problems we are facing as a nation are primarily Government caused. This would be akin to a builder who did such a poor job of constructing a building that it was on the verge of collapsing on a school and a nursing home and the builder saying, yes I know we screwed this up, but this problem is so big that only I can fix it... and I'm going to fix it by putting massive weights on top and blowing out the foundation!
No, Government is not the solution, and we don't have to accept Trillion dollar deficits (that means debt people, with interest) for years to come. We need lower taxes, lower spending, and for the Government to get the heck out of the way of the American people and the free market. And please don't give me that nonsense about the free market having caused this crisis, Government interference in the free market caused this crisis, and more Government interference will only make it worse.

Bailouts And Such
With all the pushing for bailouts and nationalization of American industries and businesses and such, George W. Bush has now officially become the most socialist President in American History... so far. That "so far" is important however, because he only gets to carry that title until January 20th, as the policies and regulations, codes and laws ushered in under the incoming Obama administration will bring Socialism to our great land in ways many of our forefathers never would have imagined possible.
The important thing to realize here is that George W. Bush had the opportunity to mitigate some of the things that Obama and the other Democrats want to do, but instead of standing up to Protect America, he is laying the groundwork to allow all of these things to be put into place.
Truly this is the darkest hour for the Bush Presidency. May God have Mercy on us all.

More Leftist Lunacy
As most of you already know, I'm neither a George W. Bush fan, nor am I a Bush hater. This makes me just a little unique, because it can be hard to find people who don't fall into one of those two camps. And yes, even though you don't really see them on the news, there are plenty of Bush fans out there.Something is bothering me though. There seem to be a lot of people, all of them on the far left, who are saying that President Bush should resign and allow Obama to take office earlier than the scheduled January 20th time frame. They even have some wild ideas of how this could be done. They say that Bush and Cheney could resign together, and then Nancy Pelosi would be President (since she's the speaker of the House right now) and she would just go along with Obama's ideas. This, of course, is nothing more than a ploy to make sure that the Democrats get the first woman President, showing how they are still running scared of Sarah Palin. As a side note, if this were going to happen, which it won't which I'll get to in a moment, the right way to do it would be for Dick Cheney to resign, Bush to appoint Obama as VP and then resign once he's confirmed, which would take this Senate all of about three seconds.
Anyway, the idiocy of these people is simply stunning. One of the things that really sets the United States apart from the rest of the world is the fact that every 4 to 8 years we elect a new President, and power is transferred in a clean, efficient, peaceful way. As much as Republicans didn't like Bill Clinton, when Bush won the 2000 election, you didn't hear all these calls for Clinton to step aside for him to take the office early. It was enough for Republicans that we had won, and would soon have our man in the White House. Likewise, as much as I disagree with Obama, and am not anticipating a good time for the next 4 years, and based on that am hoping that a really good conservative Republican is able to defeat him in 2012, should that happen, I would not expect Obama not to serve out his term.
This is driven by a couple of things, first and foremost being the rabid hatred that the leftists have for George W. Bush, and the other is their lust for power. They have tasted victory with the election of Obama, and can't wait for him to destroy... err... change our Country.
One funny part of this is the fact that on the biggest thing that is going on right now, the economic woes, Bush is basically doing (sadly) exactly what Obama would do, and most of the other issues in the far left agenda will take some time to move forward, so rushing to power won't do them any good.
For myself, while I'm no big fan of George W. Bush, I think that it would be a grand time to be able to sit down and have lunch with the man, sometime after January 21st 2009. I question some of the things he did as President, but he seems to me that as a regular guy, he could be a lot of fun to hang out with.

Worlds Easiest Job
Ayers now wants to claim that he was not a terrorist because he never killed anyone, this, however, isn't quite true, on a couple of points. First, he may not personally have killed anyone, but being an inept terrorist doesn't make one not a terrorist. Further, while he may not have personally killed anyone, the terror organization that he founded did kill several people, and so he does bear responsibility for that. And the fact that he was never convicted doesn't mean anything in this case, because he got off on a technicality, and has since admitted his role, since he could no longer be prosecuted for it.
And one other major point about Ayers assertion that he wouldn't be a terrorist because he didn't kill anyone. While most terrorists do kill people as part of their tactics, it is not a defining trait. Trying to strike terror into the hearts of the people in order to achieve your own political ends is terrorism. It's all about fear, if someone were really effective, they would be able to terrorize without actually killing anyone, but that wouldn't make them any less despicable a person.
Regardless if Ayers personally killed anyone or not, he engaged in activity that basically held that if he couldn't convince people that his way was right, he would blow something up and try to cow people into doing whatever he wanted. If he couldn't win the argument, which he couldn't, he would go straight to setting off bombs.
So, are we guilty of demonizing William Ayers? Not at all, he did that himself, a long, long time ago. And he's a close friend of the man who will be our President. You think about that.

Thank You
We know that our freedom is not free, and no one knows better than our veterans the incredible price that has been paid to protect those God given liberties for us.
I never served myself, but have the utmost respect for those who have. My family has a long and proud Military tradition, going back to the Revolutionary War, fighting to ensure our Liberty.
So many have given so much for God and Country. On Memorial day we honor those who have died. Today we honor those who are still with us. So, to those who are still here to hear the thank you, I want to say Thank You, from the bottom of my heart, for all you do and have done. Truly the world is a better place because of your service.

In Reagan's Words
"Not too long ago, two friends of mine were talking to a Cuban refugee, a businessman who had escaped from Castro, and in the midst of his story one of my friends turned to the other and said, "We don't know how lucky we are." And the Cuban stopped and said, "How lucky you are? I had someplace to escape to." And in that sentence he told us the entire story. If we lose freedom here, there's no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth."
The truth of those words should speak to each and every one of us. Freedom has a price, it is a very costly thing, and yet worth the price. Freedom is not a something that we can allow to be choked out of us, bit by bit until it is no longer ours. Nor is freedom something to be hoarded and kept only for ourselves. We must, instead of allowing despotism to creep in from the rest of the world, cause liberty and freedom to spread out from us like a burgeoning flower.
The time is now, it really is "A Time For Choosing," will you continue to be complacent and simply sit back and allow freedom to be destroyed, piece by piece until it is gone? Or will you educate yourself, learn form the past, and stand up and say too those who would destroy our liberties, "Enough!"
Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Our Great Sovereign God
I think that the book of Job gives us some great answers with regards to this situation. After all the terrible troubles and loss that befell Job, we find his reaction:
Job 1:20-22 (All Scripture contained herein is from the ESV)
20 Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. 21 And he said, "Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD."
22 In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.
Job 2:9-10
9 Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die." 10 But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.In both of these passages we see that Job does not ascribe these evils to the devil, or to the men who killed his servants and stole his livestock, but he ascribes the acts directly to God, and the scripture makes it clear that he has not done so falsely, or in sin, or accused God of doing wrong. (I'm not saying that Obama's victory is on the same level as what befell Job, my point here is regarding the sovereignty of God.)
This is just one place in the Bible where we see that God is Sovereign over all, and nothing can happen without God first ordaining it to happen, not that God has done wrong, or done evil, but that for His own reasons, and to His own purposes, He has done these things to Job.
When the time comes and Job begins to question why God has acted as he has, we find God Himself talking to Job:
Job 38:1-15
1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said:
2 "Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? 3 Dress for action like a man;
I will question you, and you make it known to me.
4 "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell me, if you have understanding.
5 Who determined its measurements—surely you know!
Or who stretched the line upon it?
6 On what were its bases sunk,
or who laid its cornerstone,
7 when the morning stars sang together
and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8 "Or who shut in the sea with doors
when it burst out from the womb,
9 when I made clouds its garment
and thick darkness its swaddling band,
10 and prescribed limits for it
and set bars and doors,
11 and said, 'Thus far shall you come, and no farther,
and here shall your proud waves be stayed'?
12 "Have you commanded the morning since your days began,
and caused the dawn to know its place,
13 that it might take hold of the skirts of the earth,
and the wicked be shaken out of it?
14 It is changed like clay under the seal,
and its features stand out like a garment.
15 From the wicked their light is withheld,
and their uplifted arm is broken."
This same thing rings true here. I do not know why God has ordained that Barack Obama is to be the next President of the United States of America, but He has, in fact, done so.
Let us assume that I am correct in my predictions of all the bad things that I have said will happen as a result of both the Democrat controlled Congress, and the Obama Presidency, how can I square that with my assertion that it was God's plan? It's really quite simple.
Philippians 4:19 says, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
This does not say that God will give us all of our wants, or do things according to our wishes, but rather says that He will supply our needs. It also does not say that God will supply what we perceive to be our needs, but what our needs actually are. Nor is it limited to our physical needs, but those spiritual, or eternal needs, which are far greater.
If all the extreme cases of what could come about as a long term result of this election, we may end up in suffering, but it may be that God knows that we have a need of suffering, and if He didn't supply that, He would be breaking His promise.
And another silver lining, if the worst extremes of all of my predictions come true, it will crush the "Health, Wealth, and Prosperity" movement.
My trust is in the Lord my God. I will continue to fight for what is right, and if I fail, I can know that it is part of God's great plan, but I will also know that I have fulfilled my responsibility of doing what is right.
I have heard from some other Conservatives that they were not able to sleep last night, even that they were up all night crying over the election results. As for me, while I felt some sadness for my Country, I shed no tears. I watched President Elect Obama's speech, and then I went outside and took down my yard signs, and took the bumper stickers off my cars (I refuse to be a sore loser like those people still driving around with "Kerry/Edwards" stickers) made my daughter a sandwich for school, and went to bed, nor did I have trouble sleeping. I slept like a man secure in the knowledge that the Almighty Sovereign God has everything under control.

A Truly Historic Election
****************
Prospects for John McCain are looking pretty dim right now, though the election isn't quite over yet. However, regardless of tonight's results, whether McCain pulls off an upset and comes out ahead, or if it continues as it looks at this moment like it will, and Obama comes out on top, this is a truly historic election. Let me explain why.
If you know me, you know that I'm not going to say that it's historic because of a black man either winning, or coming very close to it, because that's all nonsense, and even talking about it bears a measure of racism. The reason that this is a truly historic election is that it is the first time in the history of the United States certainly, and possibly the world, that a free people have voted in such stunning numbers to abdicate their liberty.
If Obama does indeed win the White House, which, as I said, seems very likely now, and the Democrats control the House and the Senate, which also appears nearly certain, it will be stunning how much, and how fast, our nation will change, and it won't be for good.
They will implement a Socialist system of redistribution of wealth, which will destroy our economy, and cost us millions of jobs.
They will implement socialized, top down, Government run health care, which will destroy the health care system that we currently have, and lead to health care rationing, with those who are deemed less valuable being left to die, if not actively killed (through assisted suicide measures).
They will pass FOCA (The Freedom Of Choice Act) which will repeal all Federal and State restrictions on abortion of any kind, including the ban on Partial Birth abortions that we had to fight so hard for a few years ago. That will all be gone in the new Government that we are likely looking at. As if the millions upon millions of children that have already been killed are not bad enough, they will kill millions upon millions more that otherwise could have had a chance at life.
We will see more social programs put in place that will purport to help the poor and needy, but will do nothing more than to keep the impoverished in poverty, and fully dependent on the Government.
These four points listed here only just scratch the surface of the changes that we will see as a result of the 2008 election, again, assuming that don't see a miraculous turnaround during the night.
And listening to the Democratic rhetoric and the democratic crowds, I can't help but be reminded of the words of Senator Amidala from Star Wars, in Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, "So this is how liberty dies... to thunderous applause."
For all of those who voted for McCain/Palin, and fought so hard on the side of the right in this campaign season, do not feel that your time was wasted, we have fought the good fight, we have been on the right side of the issues, and will continue to be. Our cause is just, and our principles and ideologies are right, true and good. So, why might we have lost?
Clearly the apparent outcome of this election is not good for our Country, but as our Country has morphed into and increasingly Godless nation, we may not be getting what we want, but we are getting exactly what we deserve.
