I keep seeing this commercial on TV telling everyone that they need to buy Gold as an investment. Actually, Gold is a lousy investment, but that's not my point today. My point is that these people want you to buy your Gold from them, therefore, they stand to make a ton of money off of you, and then tell you to call them to "Get the facts about Gold." I have to assume that these commercials are effective, or they would stop showing them, so it makes me wonder, don't people ever stop to think that the person who stands to make a ton of money off of something might not be the best person to get advice from?
This isn't the only one either. There are also the AARP insurance commercials that tell people, "These are the only plans endorsed by AARP." You think? It has their name on it! Don't you think that means that they make money off of them? So why would they endorse something else? It doesn't mean the plans are any good, it just means that they want to make the money. These plans might be good, I don't know, but if you are shopping for one of these plans, you need to research them from sources not connected with the people selling them.
The same is true of the Gold, don't just take my word for it, check it out, but not from the people selling it. Look at the values of Gold and it's long term track record, don't buy it because somebody has some to sell.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
